Critical Voices 3 - Themes

This year's Critical Voices programme turns the spotlight onto the artist and society, and reflects international intellectual debate. The themes I’ve proposed engage with current cultural and political questions. They also investigate more abstract concepts that apply to numerous art forms, making interdisciplinary connections.

Visiting speakers will be a mix of leading international figures and emerging voices. The emphasis is on those who are concerned with art’s relationship to the public domain, whose work and interests cross cultural, national and linguistic boundaries, and who explore a variety of genres

The themes outlined below have become a springboardfor discussion among the programme’s participants and we hope that they will stimulate lots of audience response over the coming months.
